# ZaPF

## Description

HertZ is the name of the 2026 ZaPF, the German national conference for physics student associations, hosted in Hamburg by the Fachschaftsrat Physik. The event will take place from November 12 to 15 at the physics campus on Jungiusstraße 9 and 11. ZaPF brings together students from physics departments across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss matters affecting physics students. The Hamburg gathering expects around 200 participants from approximately 50 student associations.

Across four days, the program will include about 40 working groups covering topics such as study reform, digital teaching, student mental health, and differences between degree programs. Participants will also meet in plenary sessions to discuss shared issues and working-group outcomes, and may develop position papers to communicate students’ perspectives to relevant organizations. The conference welcomes students from physics-related programs and encourages participation from other disciplines, supporting interdisciplinary exchange. ZaPF has been held each semester at a different university since 1979.
