## Description

Zeitenblicke was an interdisciplinary e-journal that operated from 2002 to 2013, focusing primarily on early modern history and pioneering a new approach to scholarly publishing in the humanities. It established itself as a reputable source of academic content, publishing three issues annually in a format similar to traditional print journals. During its decade-long run, Zeitenblicke catered to the evolving needs of scholars, particularly addressing the rising demand for hypertextual and modular publication formats favored by emerging researchers. In recognition of the shifting landscape of academic publishing, the editors announced that the journal would cease publication after its final issue in June 2013. However, all past publications remain accessible through their website, ensuring the continued availability of valuable scholarly resources. The initiative was supported by the Ministry for Innovation, Science and Research of North Rhine-Westphalia and maintained through the technical infrastructure provided by the University Library Centre of North Rhine-Westphalia. The journal played a significant role in shaping electronic publishing in the humanities.
