## Description

Zen Martial Arts is a martial arts school in East Sacramento that teaches authentic Okinawan karate and presents self-defense as more than physical skill. Its approach emphasizes kindness, empathy, community, compassion, confidence, discipline, and character, supporting students both in the dojo and in everyday life. The school offers karate programs for children, helping families foster positive traits, beliefs, and habits, as well as martial arts classes for adults and young adults focused on fitness, concentration, and personal growth. Its Safe in the City program combines fitness, empowerment, and self-defense in a safe, supportive environment. Prospective students can try a free class, and the school invites students and families to connect through a private Facebook group. Zen Martial Arts also provides a mobile app with access to events and curriculum, alongside articles and resources on choosing a martial arts school, children’s black belts, and karate practice. Located on J Street in Sacramento, the school serves as a community-oriented place to learn, train, and develop skills for life.
