## Description

Zipcoin is an Ethereum-based cryptocurrency project inspired by Snowmoon, a novel by Vitalik Buterin; the project says it is not affiliated with the author. Its $ZC token supports private transfers and on-chain messaging through tools to “zip” and “unzip” coins. Users deposit zipcoins into a privacy pool, prove ownership in their browser, and withdraw to a fresh address without an on-chain link to the original wallet. Alternatively, they can burn zipcoins with a message, permanently removing the tokens while recording the words on Ethereum. The ZipDoorstep feature lets users address a message to an ENS name. The project also directs users to buy $ZC, including an option to buy and burn with ETH, and provides analytics, documentation, books, and trials. A 0.5% sales tax is collected on each $ZC trade; half is used to buy back zipcoins, which are then burned with messages or zipped as prizes, while the treasury supports relays and builders.
