## Description

Zog Energy was a UK energy supplier founded in 2012 by Andrew and Tony to offer customers competitively priced energy and a straightforward way to switch tariffs. The founders said the company aimed to help households move away from older, more expensive deals, using technology to keep operating costs down. Zog supplied domestic gas and also offered business electricity and gas services, as reflected in its listed energy products. To support its gas offering, the company bought supplies in advance through Contract Natural Gas Ltd.

Zog Energy ceased trading in December 2021 after Contract Natural Gas Ltd withdrew from the wholesale market and stopped trading. The resulting loss of access to previously agreed gas hedges meant Zog faced purchasing gas at prevailing market prices and could no longer continue as a supplier. Its customers were transferred to EDF, with the company stating that energy supplies would remain secure and credit balances protected. Before closure, Zog highlighted competitive pricing, simple switching and customer support as central to its service.
