## Description

Zoo d’Asson, also known as the Parc Exotique des Pyrénées, is a wildlife park in Asson, between Pau and Lourdes, at the foot of the Pyrenees. It invites visitors of all ages to explore shaded paths, covered viewing areas and a botanical garden while discovering a diverse collection of animals. The park features free-roaming lemurs and kangaroos, a tropical greenhouse with reptiles and giant bats, exotic birds, porcupines and rare species in themed areas such as the Temple of the Ocelot. Visitors can also explore a dinosaur park and enjoy daily keeper encounters, feeding sessions and family activities, including the Défis Nature Live and ZooAthlon games. For a more hands-on visit, Zoo d’Asson offers experiences such as a keeper-for-a-day or evening, VIP visits, mini-keeper activities, birthdays and night-time events. The zoo highlights animal welfare and biodiversity conservation; admission supports ten conservation programmes. In 2026, it is creating a new habitat for its snow leopards, with improved living conditions and an immersive visitor experience.
