## Description

Parc Zoologique de Fréjus is a wildlife park in Fréjus, France, with a history spanning more than 55 years. Since opening in 1971, it welcomed generations of visitors to discover animals and biodiversity across its 15-hectare site, which was home to around 250 animals. The park presented its work through animal encounters, educational activities, seasonal events and behind-the-scenes stories, while promoting animal welfare, conservation, education and protection of living things.

The park closed its historic site to visitors on August 30, 2026, following a period of transition after its takeover by ZOA in 2025. Although public visits have ended, the organization continues to share news about the animals, staff and developments through its website and social channels. Keepers remain on site full-time, providing care and supervision for the animals as plans are made for their next steps. The park’s ongoing communications also explain the closure, reflect on its history and highlight the people and animal-care work behind the scenes.
