Zoo Labs is a brand that empowers Black, Indigenous, and people of color in the music industry to own and amplify their creative projects. They bridge the gap between art and business by offering global access to artist-tailored entrepreneurial training. In addition, Zoo Labs provides unrestricted funding and a strong creative community for Bay Area BIPOC musicians.

Their mission is to create a world where artists are recognized as cultural leaders and fairly compensated for their work and ideas. Zoo Labs was founded in West Oakland and has been at the forefront of building startup entrepreneurship infrastructure around artists for the past decade. They support artists by removing barriers to access practical and affordable business training through their online school, Zoo Labs LEARN, which offers free entrepreneurial courses created by artists, for artists.

Through the Zoo Labs FUND, they also provide focused mentorship and unrestricted grants to Bay Area BIPOC musicians, empowering them to prioritize their own economic growth in building successful creative small businesses. In total, Zoo Labs has awarded $460,000 to 27 BIPOC-led teams, representing 79 individuals from across the Bay Area. By supporting the entrepreneurial endeavors of culturally innovative individuals, Zoo Labs stimulates employment growth, wealth creation, and a self-sustaining ecosystem of career development and community support
