## Description

Zürcher Tierschutz is an animal-protection association based in Zurich, Switzerland, dedicated to improving the welfare of animals through practical care, advice, education and advocacy. Its animal shelter is a central part of its work, providing care for animals and helping match them with suitable adoptive homes. The shelter supports dogs, cats, small animals and exotic animals, and offers guidance for people considering adoption or handing over an animal.

The association also advises pet owners on responsible care, animal health and legal topics, and provides information about wildlife, farm animals, laboratory animals, the fur trade and puppy trading. Its services include consultations, resources on preventing emergencies and reporting animal abuse or road accidents involving animals. For young people and schools, Zürcher Tierschutz offers educational activities, holiday courses and opportunities such as reading to cats. The organisation shares research, publications, leaflets, news and events to raise awareness and encourage informed action. Donations, memberships, sponsorships and volunteering help support its work to protect animals.
