## Description

Zukunft MEMORIAL e.V. is an organization continuing the work of the international MEMORIAL movement, which was founded in 1989 and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022. Working in exile, it promotes remembrance of Soviet dictatorship and state terror, and presents historical memory as an essential part of democratic life and a way to recognize authoritarian patterns. The organization describes its mission as “Remembering is resistance” and seeks to support a different Russia and a free Europe.

Zukunft MEMORIAL’s work combines research, public education and cultural programming. Its projects include archival work, the Roginsky Conference, the exhibition “The Other Russia,” city tours, a book club and publications. It also shares news and commentary, organizes events, and works with the broader MEMORIAL network, supporters and partner organizations. The organization invites people to contribute through donations and offers a newsletter for updates. Its public work includes highlighting the importance of historical responsibility in current political debates, while security considerations limit the details it shares about individuals and contacts.
