## Description

Zwarthout | Shou Sugi Ban specializes in charred wood and bamboo cladding for distinctive, durable façades and interior applications. The brand combines the traditional Shou Sugi Ban charring technique with contemporary design, aiming to help architects and clients balance sustainability requirements, building regulations and aesthetic ambitions. Its collection includes nine products made from materials such as Accoya, Douglas fir, Radiata pine, Fraké wood and bamboo. Options vary in texture, grain, charring and appearance, from refined linear structures to bold flame patterns and robust scales. Several products use FSC-certified materials, and the range includes biobased options and products with stated fire classifications. Zwarthout presents completed projects spanning residences, offices, schools and other public buildings, showing how its cladding can be used across different architectural settings. The company also offers sample boxes for façade and interior applications, product information and technical documentation. Its advisory service supports projects from early design concepts through technical detailing and engineering, helping develop feasible façade solutions with attention to material use and installation.
