The change is the completion of the brand's transition to the new brand that started in 2022.
βAs our markets continue to evolve, completing our brand transition to Veradigm represents a capstone on our own evolution as a company. We are well-positioned to drive growth and serve each market where we compete," says Rick Poulton, Veradigm Chief Executive Officer in a press release about the rebranding.
Veradigm is a publicly traded American company that provides healthcare providers with practice management and electronic health record technology, patient engagement, care coordination, financial, and analytics technology. The company was previously known as Allscripts Healthcare Solutions and has over 180,000 physician users and products in 2,700 hospitals and 13,000 extended care organizations. The company changed its name to Veradigm in January 2023.
Allscripts was founded in 1981 and merged with the healthcare systems operations of rival Misys in 2008, and in 2010, it merged with Eclipsys to create the largest network of clients in the industry. In 2020, Allscripts divested its EPSi business to Strata Decision Technology for $365 million and its care coordination business, CarePort Health, to Wellsky for $1.35 billion.
Allscripts also acquired dbMotion, Jardogs, Practice Fusion, and ZappRx, a Boston-based prescription drug startup that provides an online platform used by patients, physicians, and pharmacists for the management of specialty medications.
