Second Harvest Heartland is more than just a food bank. As one of the largest and most innovative hunger-relief organizations in the nation, our mission is to end hunger together. We advocate for policies and programs that work to eradicate hunger, such as SNAP, school meals, and senior nutrition programs.

We're also dedicated to finding innovative solutions to hunger, with initiatives like FOODRx and Kitchen Coalition. Working in collaboration with local food shelves, hunger relief agencies, and state and federal resources, we strive to provide healthy food where it's needed most. As a proud member of Feeding America, we have access to millions of pounds of surplus food and grocery donations, as well as funds raised through national campaigns.

Our impact is substantial, serving a 59-county area in Minnesota and Wisconsin and providing 94 percent of the food distributed by our partners. With 423 Food Shelf Partners, 1,115 Partner Programs, and the support of 9,348 volunteers, we have been able to make a difference in the lives of 813,000 people, providing 113 million meals and distributing 123 million pounds of food. Our vision is guided by a strategic plan that addresses hunger through increased awareness, targeted innovations, and responsive services.

With a rich history spanning over 20 years, we have achieved major milestones in our journey to end hunger, including the launch of programs like Farm to Food Shelf and FOODRx, and the opening of an expanded warehouse and food distribution facility. Our leadership, comprised of the Executive Team and Board of Directors, works alongside our dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners to lead our mission of ending hunger together.
