AACOG, or the Alamo Area Council of Governments, is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all residents of the Alamo Region. They achieve this by working in partnership with elected and appointed officials, funders, community partners, and beneficiaries. AACOG offers a range of services and programs to support the region.

They provide government services, military and veteran affairs support, and assist with natural resources and air quality management. Additionally, they prioritize public safety, regional services, environmental conservation, and aging and disability services. Citizen participation is strongly encouraged at AACOG meetings, which include the Area Council, Board of Directors, and standing and advisory committees.

These meetings set general policy, review the annual budget, and elect officers. AACOG values performance with integrity, commitment to excellence, service before self, and a culture of appreciation. All meetings are open to the public and accessible to individuals with disabilities.
