The target audience for these events includes physicians who are residency trained or board-certified in emergency medicine.

To ensure alignment with their mission, AAEM does not accredit programs with content or sponsors that contradict their principles or compete with their own CME events. They also avoid accrediting conferences that fall within 30 days before or after AAEM conferences or meetings. When partnering with AAEM for CME accreditation, organizations receive benefits such as an online portal for attendees to claim CME, a follow-up survey, tracking of financial disclosures, and permission to use the AAEM logo.

However, it's important to note that CME accreditation does not cover registration processing or advertising. If an organization believes their program meets AAEM's guidelines, they can apply for CME accreditation by submitting the required information and paying a $2,500 application fee. Overall, AAEM plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and credibility of CME programs in emergency medicine
