AAWC is Apne Aap Women’s Collective, an anti-trafficking organization that has been serving the women and children of Kamathipura, Asia’s largest and oldest red light area in Mumbai, since 1998. With a vision and mission centered around empowering women and breaking the cycle of intergenerational prostitution, AAWC offers various programs to provide support and resources. Their Umeed program supports women in brothel-based prostitution, Udaan is for daughters of Umeed members and other girls in the red light area, and Umang caters to toddlers in the area.

By giving them the tools and opportunities for a better quality of life, AAWC has successfully served over 2,800 women and children, helping them to pursue higher education and enter respected professions. Accredited by organizations like GuideStar India and GlobalGiving, AAWC's impactful work has gained recognition and support from around the world
