About

Description

Adena Springs Retirement Program is a renowned brand in the horse racing industry. Owned by the esteemed Stronach Family, Adena Springs has developed a thoroughbred retirement program to ensure a healthy and safe retirement for their horses. With over 250 horses in training, they are committed to providing the best care for their equine athletes.

The retirement program is based at the Adena Springs North farm in Aurora, Ontario, which boasts top-notch facilities including a half-mile indoor training track, one-mile dirt track, a seven-furlong turf course, 4 barns, and a state-of-the-art indoor arena and training facility. Horses that are not suitable for adoption are retired permanently at the Florida location. Each retired horse undergoes careful evaluation for necessary medical care or rehabilitation, followed by a retraining program that includes riding, turnout, ground work, and relaxation.

Adena Springs has a professional staff of trainers, riders, grooms, and veterinarians dedicated to this purpose. The aim of the program is to find suitable lifelong adoptive homes for the retired horses, providing them with a comfortable and happy retirement. Adena Springs ensures that new owners receive full disclosure of each horse's health history and current retraining status, ensuring a smooth transition into their new homes.

Adena Springs is a long-time supporter of thoroughbred retirement programs and believes in the rehabilitation and retraining of former racehorses. They have sponsored thoroughbred-only classes at various horse shows and have a deep commitment to providing quality bloodlines and conditions for breeding, raising, and training horses. With exceptional stallions such as Medaglia d'Oro, Kitten's Joy, Awesome Again, and Macho Uno, Adena Springs offers breeders top-class bloodlines from around the world.

With stallions located in Kentucky, Ontario, California, and New York, Adena Springs is dedicated to improving the quality of thoroughbreds. The Adena Springs Retirement Program, founded in 2004, was the first in-house retirement program in the industry. They match horses with loving owners who are committed to their lifelong well-being and provide a lifetime of care and happiness.

The program aims to retrain each retired horse for various disciplines, such as racing, hunter, jumper, dressage, eventing, western, or pleasure, making them versatile athletes in any field. If you are interested in becoming a part of the Adena Retirement Program or have any questions, you can contact them through their telephone number or email provided on their website. Adena Springs is grateful for your passion for thoroughbreds and welcomes you to visit their facility to see firsthand the exceptional care they provide to their horses
