About
Description
AIDS Project Worcester (APW) is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to providing education and support to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS since 1987. Originally founded in response to the growing number of HIV infections in Worcester and its surrounding suburbs, APW has evolved to offer a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of the community. Their services include the Joe McKee Care Center, which provides testing and counseling, as well as the Syringe Services Program for harm reduction and prevention.
APW also offers PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) for those at high risk of HIV, outreach to homeless individuals, nutritional assessment and a food bank to combat food insecurity, and psychosocial services including peer support and mental health services. With a dedicated team of staff members, APW strives to create a safe and inclusive environment for all, including LGBTQ+ youth. They also offer case management and transportation services.
By supporting APW, you are contributing to their mission of preventing the spread of HIV, advocating for those affected by the virus, and raising awareness in the community
