About

Description

Ajiri Tea is a unique brand with a heartwarming story behind it. The brand was founded in 2008 by Sara Holby, Kate Holby, and Ann Funkhouser, a mother-daughter trio, with the aim of creating sustainable employment opportunities. It all began when Sara went to western Kenya to volunteer for an NGO that supported HIV/AIDS affected members of the community.

However, when the global financial recession hit, the NGO's international sponsors withdrew their donations, leaving the community without vital resources. Motivated by their experience, the trio decided to start Ajiri Tea, a tea company that supports orphan education in Kenya. Recognizing the power of women's empowerment, they employed local women to handcraft the labels for their tea boxes and the twines that go inside.

This not only provides them with a source of income, but also creates a cycle of sustainable aid. With a commitment to making a positive impact, every purchase of Ajiri Tea supports orphan education, ensuring that each cup of tea you enjoy makes a difference in the lives of children in need. Explore their selection of high-quality teas and join them in their mission to create a brighter future for the next generation
