Description

ARDD - Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development is a Civil Society Organization that was founded in 2008 in Amman, Jordan. The organization aims to reinitiate a new Nahda (Arab Renaissance) project to address the challenges faced by the Arab World. Drawing inspiration from the achievements and ideas of the Arab Nahda, ARDD strives to open doors for future participation in formulating concrete actions for desired change and development.

ARDD's primary focus is on supporting marginalized individuals and communities, including refugees and migrants, in acquiring and enjoying their social, political, and economic rights. They provide assistance through legal aid, psychosocial support, media and grassroots mobilization, and research and advocacy. ARDD also raises awareness among stakeholders locally, regionally, and internationally about the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals in Jordan and the Arab Region.

With nine offices across Jordan, including two in refugee camps, ARDD is dedicated to serving vulnerable and underrepresented people. They also have regional programs and projects that integrate insights and experiences gained from their country-based work. By initiating debates and forging consensus on common solutions, ARDD aims to contribute to positive change in the Arab world and put these solutions into practice.

ARDD's vision is to invest in available resources and unleash the potential of Arab societies while promoting freedom, justice, and equality. Their mission is to carry out a renaissance project that addresses the moral, political, and development crises in the Arab world by promoting pluralism, tolerance, and respect. They aim to reform education, scientific research, development, public policies, and expand participation in public life and decision-making processes.

Building on the insights and achievements of the Nahda, ARDD aims to bring disenfranchised individuals back to the center of development and reform efforts. They believe that inclusive participation is crucial to achieving a balanced and just social, economic, and political order in the Arab world. ARDD collaborates with donors, partners, and networks to further their mission.

By aligning their objectives with the achievements of the Nahda, ARDD strives to address the challenges faced by the Arab world and work towards desired change and development. Please note that the website is under construction, and this description is based on available information
