About

Description

Arundel Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) has been proudly serving the Crofton, Davidsonville, Gambrills, and surrounding communities in Anne Arundel and Prince George's County, Maryland for over 50 years. Established in 1956, AVFD was formed with a strong sense of community and a commitment to helping others. With a dedicated group of volunteers, AVFD provides a range of products and services to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

AVFD offers CPR classes and first aid classes for individuals who want to be prepared in case of emergencies. They also focus on fire prevention efforts to educate the community on how to prevent fires and stay safe. To continue serving the community, AVFD encourages individuals to join their team as responders.

They offer volunteer opportunities and an easy online application process. To support their work, AVFD relies on public donations. They organize fundraisers like the Pit Beef event, Haunted Trail, Christmas Trees, Lunch With Santa, and the Rescue Run, including the 5K and 10K results.

Contributions from the community enable AVFD to fund their operations effectively. Throughout the years, AVFD has grown significantly, adapting to the changing demographics of the area. They have a fleet of apparatus, including pumper trucks, ambulances, utility vehicles, and a heavy-duty squad, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle various emergency situations.

AVFD's dedicated members and the ongoing support of the community are the pillars that have made this volunteer fire department successful for more than five decades
