Athens County CASA is a court-based agency dedicated to making a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children involved in juvenile court. They recruit and train community volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) who represent the best interests of these vulnerable children. As a non-profit organization, Athens CASA is governed by Athens County Juvenile Court and supported by the Friends of Athens CASA.

The agency serves all children adjudicated as abused, neglected, and/or dependent by the Juvenile Court, with no charge for their services. Athens CASA values inclusivity and does not discriminate on any basis, ensuring equal support and assistance to all children. They are committed to meeting federal, state, and local requirements, and have received funding from the Victims of Crime Act grant, administered by the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

Partnerships with organizations like the Ohio CASA Association, National CASA Association, Ohio State Bar Foundation, and Athens County Foundation have further enhanced the support and resources available to Athens CASA.
