Avalon Center, located in Williamsburg, VA, is a dedicated organization working tirelessly to end domestic and sexual violence. With a rich history dating back to 1978, Avalon was originally known as the Williamsburg Task Force on Battered Women. Over the years, Avalon has evolved and expanded its services to meet the growing demand for support.

They also provide resources and assistance for individuals seeking help and support in times of crisis. In 2016, the organization underwent a transformation and changed its name to Avalon Center to better reflect its commitment to diversity. They have since extended their services to the Middle Peninsula communities and established two community-based safe houses and a second Outreach Office. Avalon Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves approximately 1500 individuals each year, and their impact is felt across 11 jurisdictions.
