About

Description

Banning Ranch Conservancy (BRC) is a brand dedicated to preserving and protecting the beautiful Randall Preserve, a 397-acre parcel of land consisting of a coastal mesa and adjacent coastal lowland wetlands. Located between the cities of Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Huntington Beach, the preserve is a vital link between publicly-owned protected open spaces in the area. Originally owned by Mary Hollister Banning, the wife of Phineas Banning, the Father of the Port of Los Angeles, Banning Ranch holds cultural significance and is contained within the state Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC) Sacred Lands file.

The BRC is working diligently with native tribes and experts to preserve native nation evidence and sacred sites. Apart from its cultural and historical significance, the Randall Preserve is home to diverse habitats such as native grasslands, coastal sage scrub, and vernal pools, supporting a variety of special status species. With its mission to preserve this gem as the future Frank and Joann Randall Park and Preserve, BRC is an essential organization in their tireless efforts to protect the natural beauty of the region
