About
Description
The Benicia Historical Society, founded in 1973, is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Benicia and California for future generations. As a brand, our goal is to enhance the historic charm of Benicia through education, communication, and community involvement. Our society offers a range of products and services to fulfill this mission.
We have a captivating digital exhibit on the Solano Train Ferry, showcasing its unique place in local and regional history. This exhibit was created by Benicia resident Leann S. Taagepera, a graduate student in Sonoma State University's M.
A. Additionally, we have created a podcast series called Roundhouse Crosstalk, where we interview cultural preservation experts and enthusiasts. We also offer walking tours of historic homes, giving visitors a firsthand experience of Benicia's rich history.
By collaborating with local historical organizations and providing valuable resources for homeowners interested in preservation, we actively engage with our community. Through our dedication to our past, we enliven the present and shape the future of Benicia
