Bright Island Outreach is a humanitarian organization that was formed in 2013 with the mission of providing free dental care to underprivileged communities. Co-founders Eric Harris and Johnathan Diaz Nicolas met while volunteering in the Dominican Republic in 2012 and were inspired to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need. Since its inception, Bright Island Outreach has served over 6,000 patients in the Dominican Republic, constantly striving to improve the dental health of the community.

Their team of dedicated professionals, including Dr. Eric Harris and Dr. Jonathan Diaz Nicolas, bring extensive experience and expertise in the field of dentistry.

Dr. Eric Harris, a Clinical Director and Associate Professor, has been teaching CAD/CAM and CT technology-assisted clinical techniques and directing the Clinical Education & Outreach portable public health clinic. He is also involved in various community initiatives as the Dental Director for the East Valley Children’s Dental Clinics.

Dr. Jonathan Diaz Nicolas, a fourth-generation dentist, has a wealth of experience in humanitarian dentistry. He has coordinated dental missions, specialized in dental implants, and served on the USNS Comfort during charitable service in Central and South America.
