Description

CASA of Orange County is a privately-funded non-profit organization that provides a powerful voice and meaningful connections for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment. As a member of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates and Guardian Ad Litem Association for Children, CASA OC serves severely abused, neglected, and abandoned children through the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers known as CASAs. These volunteers advocate for and mentor these children, representing their best interests from the courtroom to the classroom.

Founded in 1985 with support from the Junior League of Orange County, CASA OC serves over 1,000 children annually who have moved through the Orange County child welfare system due to abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers commit to a minimum of two years with the youth, receiving extensive training to establish meaningful connections and navigate the complex child welfare system. By providing a stable presence in their lives, CASAs make a significant difference in children's futures.

With a CASA volunteer, children experience a high school graduation rate of 92%, fewer placements, improved academic and behavioral performance, and higher levels of hope. CASA of Orange County is dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable children and giving them the support they need to succeed
