Charleston Habitat for Humanity (CHFH) is a nonprofit organization that aims to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Since 1989, CHFH has been dedicated to affordable housing and transforming the Low Country of South Carolina. CHFH's history dates back to the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Hugo in September 1989, which caused extensive damage and left many without homes.

In response, CHFH partnered with the local community and government to rebuild and provide assistance to those in need. Their efforts continue to this day, as they have constructed 97 new homes, renovated 42 houses, and supported 48 homes in Honduras. The organization offers various programs, including the Homeownership Program for families in need of affordable housing and the Repair Program, which focuses on repairing and improving existing homes.

CHFH also hosts events like the Builder Bash, Oyster Roast, and Women Build to engage the community and raise awareness about their mission. To support their cause, individuals can get involved through volunteering or joining their AmeriCorps program. Donations can be made online, and there is also an option to sponsor a home build.
