About
Description
Chicago Music Store is a renowned brand that has been serving Tucson and its music community for almost a century. Founded in 1919 by Clara Levkowitz, who moved from Chicago to Tucson, the store continues to thrive today. Initially a Tienda Barata, the store quickly became a one-stop-shop for a wide variety of items, ranging from pocket watches to clothing.
Musical instruments were added to their collection, and the store became known for its extensive selection of vintage musical treasures on its third floor. Over the years, Chicago Music Store has moved locations several times to accommodate its growth. Currently, under the ownership of Clara Levkowitz's grandson, Mark, the store is located at 45 South 6th Avenue in downtown Tucson.
It is a third-generation family business, and the store takes pride in providing Tucson musicians, educators, and students with top-notch instruments, books, and accessories. Voted as the Best Music Store twelve years in a row by the Tucson Weekly readers, Chicago Music Store offers the lowest prices and even provides services such as instrument rentals and financing options through Synchrony Bank. Whether you're a professional musician or a music enthusiast, Chicago Music Store is the ultimate destination for all your musical needs
