The Cities Northern Netherlands EU Office is an in-house office that represents the cities of Emmen, Assen, Groningen, and Leeuwarden in the EU. Based at the House of the Dutch Provinces in Brussels, the office works to advance the interests of these cities and collaborate on innovative projects with international partners within the EU. Their main objective is to connect with other regions and cities, bringing them together to work on projects that address economic challenges and foster development in the Northern Netherlands.

The office aims to enhance the competitiveness of businesses in the region by discovering new opportunities and connecting partners. The team at the EU office includes Pieter Faber, the head of the office, who brings extensive experience in local government and economic affairs. Additionally, Remke Palsma and Angèle Liaigre serve as EU project advisors, contributing their expertise in areas such as circular economy, climate adaptation, digitalization, and regional innovation.
