About

Description

CRHC Archives is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of the Central Rappahannock Region in Virginia. Led by a group of devoted volunteers, the Heritage Center protects the largest historical resources in the region, including an extensive collection of photographs and documents. The archives cover the history and people of the City of Fredericksburg, as well as the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford.

These areas share a deep-rooted history connected by the Rappahannock River, which served as a vital link for their ports. The founders of the Heritage Center recognized the importance of preserving grassroots history that often gets overlooked. They meticulously collected a wide range of historical documents and photographs, including family correspondence, diaries, genealogy records, and local court cases.

These valuable treasures are being preserved and carefully entered into a state-of-the-art database accessible through their website. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a student, or someone with roots in the area, the CRHC Archives invites you to explore their digital library or visit their archives in Fredericksburg. Immerse yourself in the fascinating local history of the region and discover the original documents that tell the stories of its past
