D. C. Area Educators for Social Justice is a dynamic network of educators dedicated to the advancement of social justice teaching.

Our mission is to foster collaboration, professional development, and activism among teachers in the Washington D. C. Through our anti-bias, anti-racist, and multicultural education practices, we strive to challenge systems of oppression and create a more just and equitable world.

As part of our efforts, we offer a range of products and services to support educators in their journey towards social justice. You can subscribe to our mailing list to stay informed about upcoming opportunities and events. Joining a working group is a great way to address specific curricular or educational issues.

Additionally, you can attend our speaker series, workshops, focus groups, and social activities to engage with like-minded educators and enrich your professional practice. Inspired by the work of notable organizations across the country, this initiative was launched in 2017 by Teaching for Change to establish a much-needed network of social justice educators in the D. C.

With the support of our founding teacher advisors and generous funding from organizations such as the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation and the Communities for Just Schools Fund, we are able to make a tangible impact in our community.
