The City of Delta is home to the Delta Community Animal Shelter (DCAS), a safe haven for approximately 800 animals each year. Whether these animals come to the shelter due to abandonment, rescue, or relocation, the DCAS provides a secure and caring temporary home that offers both medical and emotional support. As a part of Delta's Property Use and Compliance (Bylaws) Division, the DCAS team, along with their Bylaw Inspectors, are dedicated to ensuring the welfare and responsible ownership of pets in the community.

Led by Ryan Voutilainen, with over 24 years of experience in the animal welfare profession, the DCAS believes in building strong relationships with partner organizations, businesses, and individual community members to support the animals. Jenna Walker-Grazier, the Shelter Supervisor, is passionate about improving the lives of local animals through guardian education and working with wildlife. The DCAS team also includes Brittany, an animal care attendant, who brings her love and passion for animals to her work at the shelter.
