About
Description
The Diversity Center is a human relations organization with a mission to eliminate bias, bigotry, and racism. Originally known as the National Conference of Christians and Jews (NCCJ), it was formed in 1927 by religious leaders who aimed to counteract the growing campaigns of hatred in the United States. In 2006, the organization became The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio, aligning with the National Federation for Just Communities (NFJC).
The center offers various programs and services to promote understanding, respect, and equality across races, ages, religions, sexes, ethnicities, cultures, abilities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses. Through School & Youth Programming, SHIFT Consulting, and Lead DIVERSITY, the center empowers individuals and organizations to create inclusive communities and work environments. Their initiatives include workshops, retreats, conferences, leadership development, and consulting services.
By striving to eliminate bias and foster diversity, The Diversity Center aims to build communities where all individuals are connected, respected, and valued
