Django Software Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the development and advancement of the Django Web framework. With the goal of promoting and protecting the open-source project, the foundation sponsors sprints, meetups, gatherings, and community events to support the development of Django. They also aim to promote the use of Django within the World Wide Web development community and advance the state of the art in web development.

The Django Software Foundation relies on the generous financial support of corporate members, without whom they would not be able to operate. They also recognize individual members for their contributions to the Django community. If you believe someone deserves recognition, including yourself, you can fill out a form for consideration.

In addition to providing support to Django events worldwide, the foundation awards prizes to volunteers who have made significant contributions to the Django community.
