About

Description

Dream of Wild Health (DWH) is an intertribal, independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been serving the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Native American community for many years. As one of the longest continually operating Native American organizations in the Twin Cities, DWH is dedicated to reconnecting the urban Native American community with traditional Native plants and their culinary, medicinal, and spiritual uses. DWH owns a 30-acre farm in Hugo, MN, where they offer educational programs that teach gardening, cooking, and culture to Native American youth.

Through these programs, DWH not only imparts valuable skills but also fosters leadership development, preparing the next generation for meaningful employment and community engagement. DWH runs the Indigenous Food Share (IFS), a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and sells their produce at farmers markets in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Additionally, they specialize in growing Indigenous foods such as corn, beans, and squash from rare seeds entrusted to them by Cora Baker, a respected Potawatomi elder. DWH collaborates with numerous urban and tribal organizations to promote the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of the Native American community. As a founding member of the Indigenous Seedkeepers Alliance, DWH actively works to reintroduce indigenous foods to communities nationwide.

As a nonprofit organization, DWH relies on donations to carry out their important mission. Consider supporting them today and be a part of their efforts to create a healthier and more connected community
