Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is a trusted national infrastructure and research performing organization that serves as a national Trusted Digital Repository (TDR) for Ireland's humanities, cultural heritage, and social sciences data. As a TDR, DRI ensures long-term and reliable digital preservation and access to social and cultural digital data. The repository follows the FAIR data principles of findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability, making the data openly available.
DRI's mission is to safeguard Ireland's social, cultural, and historical record by actively managing digital content to ensure accessibility to researchers, cultural heritage enthusiasts, and the public. They support best practices in digital archiving, digital preservation, Open Access, Open Research, and FAIR data sharing. DRI works with various organizations and institutions through its Membership Model, providing stewardship of digital data and offering free memberships through the DRI Community Archive Scheme.
DRI is committed to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and accountability, and actively engages in policy development, making significant contributions to European policies on Open Science. Certified by the CoreTrustSeal, DRI is funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and operates under the guidance of the DRI Board and Management Team.
