East Texas CASA, located in Longview, TX, is an organization dedicated to advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect in Gregg, Rusk, and Upshur Counties. They provide valuable volunteer advocacy for each child, ensuring their best interests are represented in the child protection system. When a child enters the foster care system due to an unsafe home, a committed volunteer known as a Court Appointed Special Advocate® (CASA) is appointed by a judge to help them.

CASA volunteers, who undergo rigorous training and screening, are assigned to one child or a set of siblings at a time. This individualized attention allows them to focus on providing the necessary advocacy and support for the child's unique situation. CASA volunteers play a vital role in these children's lives, often being the only stable presence as they navigate the foster care system.
