ECDC, the Ethiopian Community Development Council, is a multicultural and community-based organization that empowers immigrants and refugees to create inclusive and vibrant communities across the United States. For over four decades, ECDC has been dedicated to assisting refugees and immigrants in rebuilding their lives and becoming productive, self-sufficient, and integrated members of their new communities. As one of the nine national refugee resettlement agencies funded by the Department of State, ECDC specializes in U.

S. Refugee Resettlement. Through this program, they provide immediate and long-term support to refugees, helping them meet their needs and achieve self-sufficiency.

Additionally, ECDC uses its national position to advocate for newcomers and carry out humanitarian projects through their Special Projects & Initiatives. With a wide network of 7 branch offices and 17 affiliate sites across the U. S., ECDC collaborates with local organizations to ensure newcomers have access to essential services and community support beyond official programs.
