With a background in the Navy, Elaine Luria served her country for 20 years as a Surface Warfare Officer and nuclear engineer. She deployed six times, including two forward-deployed deployments in Japan, conducting operations in the Middle East and Western Pacific. Elaine's commitment to doing what is right and getting the job done never wavered, whether it was enforcing sanctions in the Arabian Gulf or leading a combat-ready unit of 400 sailors.

After retiring from the Navy, Elaine was inspired to help her community by starting a family business called Mermaid Factory. This business created jobs, donated to charities, and contributed to the local economy. Elaine believes in the power of small businesses and understands the challenges they face.

Now serving as a Congresswoman for Virginia's Second Congressional District, Elaine Luria uses her experience in the Navy and as a small-business owner to protect our country and create an economy that works for everyone. She is dedicated to representing the military-rich district with the largest navy base and a high concentration of veterans. Elaine's journey has prepared her to stand up for Virginia's families, and she will fight for a brighter future for every child
