About
Description
Equal Playing Field is a registered charity that aims to prevent violence against women through promoting gender equality. The organization was started in 2012 under the name Rugby League Against Violence, but later changed to Equal Playing Field in 2015 to better reflect its overall mission. Headed by Adam Everill in Australia and Jacqui Joseph in Papua New Guinea, EPF uses various sports to engage young people in its programs and utilizes sporting concepts to teach the importance of respectful relationships.
With a focus on schools, EPF's main program, EPF4S, delivers an 8-week respectful relationships education curriculum in primary schools. By educating young people about healthy, safe, and respectful relationships at a young age, EPF believes it can prevent violence against women before it occurs. Through partnerships with organizations like Plan International Australia, EPF receives funding from various donors, including the Australian Aid Program.
Operating primarily in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, EPF has also worked in the Solomon Islands and Australia. Join Equal Playing Field to make a difference in ending violence against women and promoting gender equality
