ERN Euro-NMD is a European Reference Network focused on rare neuromuscular diseases (NMDs). These disorders, which encompass a range of conditions, cause muscle weakness, breathing difficulties, and cardiac failure, resulting in lifelong disabilities and even mortality. Despite their impact, NMDs are challenging to diagnose, leading to significant delays for patients.

Currently, there are no curative treatments available for any NMDs, further exacerbating the burden on patients and healthcare systems. Recognizing the need for collaboration and improved standards of care, EURO-NMD has brought together 84 leading clinical and research centers across 25 European countries. With the active involvement of patient organizations, the network aims to harmonize clinical practices, enhance diagnosis efficiency, offer specialist training and educational programs, facilitate translational and clinical research, and share high-quality data.

By providing access to best practices, promoting research advancements, and encouraging cooperation, EURO-NMD seeks to improve health outcomes for NMD patients, reduce the burden on families, and enhance the overall healthcare landscape in Europe
