European Historic Houses is an independent and non-profit organization that serves as a voice for private owners of historic buildings, gardens, and parks. Registered under Belgian law and headquartered in Brussels, it is the only organization of its kind consulted by the European institutions. European Historic Houses is an umbrella organization representing 27 national associations of historic houses, encompassing approximately 50,000 privately-owned historic houses across Europe.

The main objective of European Historic Houses is to advocate for favorable measures at the European level to ensure the conservation and sustainable development of private historic houses. Key issues addressed include inheritance tax, low VAT rates, energy efficiency in buildings, and the prevention of illicit trafficking of cultural goods. The organization comprises two bodies: the General Assembly and the Executive Committee, with representatives from national associations serving as its members.
