About
Description
EYEJ (Empowering Youth Exploring Justice) is an organization dedicated to empowering young advocates for change. They are passionate about creating a positive influence on Cleveland's schools, youth, and community members. EYEJ was founded in 2013 by Mai Moore and June Antoine, with the aim of bridging the gap between society and resources and addressing the prevalence of poverty and violence among African-American children.
EYEJ offers various programs and services to students in grade six through age 25, with a particular focus on the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Their core program, the Discussion Series now called YDJ: Youth Discussing Justice, brings together diverse groups of youth and adults to engage in conversations about topics such as conflict resolution, toxic stress, police-youth relationships, and mental health. With a strong belief in the power of education and diverse role models, EYEJ aims to build self-valued leaders through authentic conversations and discussions.
They believe that young people have valuable insight and want to empower their ideas and viewpoints. EYEJ is committed to making a difference in the community, promoting self-confidence, and creating solutions for social justice
