Farmscape is California's largest food-focused and sustainable landscaping company based in Oakland. Our mission at Farmscape is to create edible, sustainable urban gardens that rethink how we use land and natural resources, rebuild local food systems, reconnect people with their food, restore harmony between agriculture and the ecosystem, and respect and professionalize farming and landscaping for a new generation of farmers. Founded in 2008 by Dan Allen and Lara Hermanson, Farmscape has grown from a vision of creating gardens where food can travel from the backyard to the dinner plate.

With a team of experienced farmers, builders, and designers, we have created hundreds of organic, urban farms across California. Our projects range from growing fresh produce for renowned restaurants to rooftop farms in urban areas and campuses of well-known tech companies. Through our work, we aim to connect people to a fresh, local food source right in their own backyard, while also promoting low-water, sustainable landscaping practices.
