About
Description
Frozen Food Express (FFE) Transportation Services has been providing refrigerated transportation solutions for over 65 years. The brand's history dates back to 1943 when Cy Weller, a former attorney from San Antonio, utilized his army experience to buy military equipment and salvage trucks to sell to trucking companies. Recognizing the demand for transporting perishable items, Cy adapted Army refrigerators into trailers, creating some of the first deep refrigeration trailers in the country.
In 1948, Cy took control of a trucking company called Frozen Food Express Industries, Inc. Over the years, FFE has experienced tremendous growth and became a publicly traded company in 1971. Stoney (Mit) Stubbs, Jr., who started working for FFE in 1960, eventually became the President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board.
In 2013, FFE was purchased by Thomas and James Duff, successful businessmen who own multiple businesses, including KLLM Transport Services. FFE now focuses on its core business of temperature-controlled less-than-truckload (LTL) services and is the largest asset-based temperature-controlled carrier in the United States. With 17 locations nationwide, FFE offers cold storage and break bulk services, making it a leader in the temperature-controlled transportation industry
