Introducing FLY, a renowned nonprofit organization founded in 2000, dedicated to empowering and supporting Bay Area youth impacted by the justice system. With a wide range of programs and services, FLY serves over 2,000 young individuals aged 11-25 annually. Our programs operate across four Bay Area Counties and work tirelessly to disrupt the pipeline to prison by connecting these young people with positive mentors and role models.

At FLY, we prioritize enhancing their understanding of the law and their rights, while also nurturing their leadership skills among their peers and communities. Through local and state-level advocacy efforts, we strive to bring about meaningful policy and practice changes that create a more just, humane, and equitable justice system. Incarnation puts young people at risk of physical and psychological abuse, sexual assault, and even suicide.

FLY recognizes the systemic factors that contribute to the pipeline to prison, especially for marginalized youth. Our organization is committed to achieving racial equity in our systems and communities by addressing the disparities and discrimination faced by youth of color. Imagining new possibilities, FLY envisions a future without juvenile incarceration.

With the help of our young people, we identify and advocate for innovative solutions that prioritize community-based care and support. Our services range from law-related education, youth advocacy, and coaching, to providing education and career pathways, mentoring, and promoting civic engagement. Every year, FLY's young participants achieve remarkable progress in reducing their system involvement, achieving educational goals, and developing essential life skills.
