About

Description

Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) is an independent 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1982. As the primary private partner of the U. S National Arboretum in Washington, D.

C., FONA's mission is to preserve and enhance this vibrant public space. They offer a range of services and programs that promote a love of plants, nature, and the outdoors for all visitors. FONA facilitates experiential programs that engage visitors with the beauty and wonders of the Arboretum.

They also support the overarching research and education mission of the Arboretum. Their renowned Washington Youth Garden is the Arboretum's largest community outreach program, empowering young minds and connecting them to the land through garden education. In addition to their programs, FONA hosts events like the popular Dinner Under the Stars, which is currently sold out.

They also organize the Fall Festival & Bulb Sale, featuring unique and unusual bulbs, local vendors, and fall family fun. By becoming a member or making a donation to FONA, you can support their important work and enjoy exclusive perks. FONA also offers other ways to support, such as planned giving, donations through securities, and more.
