About

Description

Forest Traffic is a leading Spanish company that specializes in the manufacturing of plywood boards. They offer a wide range of plywood options, including phenolic, wood, and birch plywood. As both wholesalers and manufacturers, Forest Traffic provides finished pieces and distributes plywood boards to various industries.

With a focus on innovation, Forest Traffic manufactures high-quality and customized technical panels for industrial, construction, and decorative sectors. Their panels are designed and fabricated according to each client's specific requirements, from consultation and design to final production. Forest Traffic is committed to environmental sustainability and has been certified as a FSC chain-of-custody since 2006.

They offer a variety of solutions for different sectors, including fire-resistant, acoustic, self-supporting, and decorative panels with various certifications such as CARB (ULEF), UNE EN 45545, SBi, and more. Established in 1996, Forest Traffic has a strong presence in the Spanish market and has expanded its activities throughout the EU. They have established partnerships with clients in countries like Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, and Denmark.

Forest Traffic is renowned for its expertise in the manufacturing of technical panels and has successfully completed projects on almost every continent. In addition to their plywood offerings, Forest Traffic also provides a range of insulation materials, including polyurethane, polystyrene, and rock wool cores, as well as lightweight options like Honeycomb® PP and Honeycomb® Aluminum. Forest Traffic's plywood boards are developed using a meticulous manufacturing process.

They are made from moist-controlled, debarked, and unrolled birch tree trunks. The resulting coil is then cut into equal sections, which are bonded together using high temperatures and pressures. The alternating grain direction of each layer creates a durable and stable panel that is kilogram-for-kilogram stronger than steel.

Plywood boards are composite panels made by bonding and pressing multiple layers of natural wood veneers. Forest Traffic uses a variety of wood species, including beech, poplar, walnut, ash, birch, mahogany, pine, and poplar. They offer three types of plywood: phenolic plywood, marine plywood, and phenolic marine plywood.

These boards are made with high-quality wood sheets and special dark-colored phenol-formaldehyde-based adhesives to ensure structural strength. They are ideal for exterior applications that require resistance to weather conditions, making them suitable for industries such as carpentry, shipbuilding, vehicle manufacturing, and the construction of kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Forest Traffic's plywood boards have several key features.

The alternating grain direction enhances their strength, while the choice of wood species determines their lightness and stability. The format of the boards makes them easy to work with and machine. They also provide insulation and acoustic conditioning, and their resistance to fire depends on the type of wood and treatment used.

Furthermore, these plywood boards can be bent without cracking and have exceptional dimensional stability. In addition to manufacturing plywood boards, Forest Traffic also produces plywood with cross-laminated construction, resulting in panels characterized by the type of wood species used for the veneers, the quality of the veneers, and the type of bonding. Their extensive range includes plywood made from birch and spruce, with Finnish birch plywood being one of the most advanced wood-derived panel products for demanding applications in the construction, automotive, and other specialized industries.

Spruce plywood is a less dense and more economical option used in full spruce plywood and special constructions combining birch and spruce veneers. Sustainability is at the core of Forest Traffic's operations, as they recognize wood as the most important raw material for plywood production. Finnish birch (hardwood) and spruce (softwood) are the primary materials used in the plywood manufacturing process.

The slow growth of trees in Finland results in dense and consistently high-quality wood. Birch provides uniform consistency and excellent strength, peeling, and adhesion properties. Spruce, on the other hand, is less dense and serves as an economical choice for full spruce plywood and special constructions combining birch and spruce veneers.

Forest Traffic's plywood is mainly cross-laminated with phenolic resin adhesive, providing adequate outdoor use (service class 3) when properly protected. Some panels are also bonded with urea-formaldehyde glue, suitable for dry (service class 1) or wet (service class 2) environments. The phenol-formaldehyde-based adhesive meets the requirements of EN 314-2 class 3 for exterior use.

The quality of adhesion is of the highest standard, ensuring the durability and reliability of the plywood boards. Overall, Forest Traffic offers a comprehensive range of high-quality and customizable plywood boards for various industries. With their commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation, they have established themselves as a trusted leader in the field of plywood manufacturing
