Gdyt, short for Grow Detroit's Young Talent, is a citywide summer jobs program that aims to empower and support the youth of Detroit. This program provides training and employment opportunities for young adults aged between 14 and 24, offering them up to 120 hours of work experience. The program is exclusively available to permanent residents of Detroit who are eligible to work in the United States.

The range of job opportunities available through Gdyt is diverse and comprehensive. Whether it's community cleanups, event planning, accounting, retail, or joining the Junior Police or Fire Cadets, there is something for everyone. Last year, Gdyt successfully provided employment to over 8,000 local youth, and they aim to achieve the same goal this year as well.

Gdyt offers a tiered model for summer employment to cater to the different needs and experiences of the participants. The Career Exploration tier is designed for those with little to no previous work experience, introducing them to first-time work and career opportunities through community service, team projects, and job shadowing. The Ready for Work tier is for young individuals with some previous work experience, giving them the chance to work with host employers and further develop their career readiness skills.

Lastly, the Career Pathway Internships tier is available for those who already have work experience and are interested in focusing on a specific career pathway with a host employer. Gdyt is dedicated to supporting and guiding the youth of Detroit in their journey towards a successful future
